I posted something similar from Marcelo Garcia, but I like the way Telles does it a little better. I think driving the hand under and the lift in the legs makes it more effective, at least for me. Great technique either way! I wish there were more videos of the Octopus guard out there!

Hip Locks From Side Control
Picked this up on Dstryrsg.com. I've taught these two before, they are both effective but very hard to hit in a live roll, but try them out none the less, just the act of reaching for that foot can get you a favorable reaction from your opponent and get them to stop hipping in. Have fun.

Slick- I usually use this when going for Triangles- but I like this counter to the elbows in the thigh when your opponent tries to pass.

Shaolin: Deep Half To The Back
If you play Deep Half then this will make a lot of sense- it is a very common position. If you don't play deep half, well, look it up in the tags, watch the videos get a partner and start to learn it!!! Once you're comfortable in the Deep Half this technique will not look complicated at all and I bet you'll be hoitting it all the time!

I use something like this but different- I guess that's the best way I can describe it- I usually roll to get the north south because I know I can get it and in this case I'm not sure I see where the pressure for the choke happens, but I like variations and obviously that dude is tapping- it's worth mentioning that Raul Gomes is a dope Black Belt competitor, so it's worth paying attention!

Mayhem Miller Standing Guard Pass
